Michael has a BA in History & American Studies and an MSc in American History from the University of Edinburgh. He comes from a proud military family and has spent most of his career as an educator in the Middle East and Asia. His passion is travel, and he seizes any opportunity to share his experiences in the most immersive way possible, whether at sea or on the land.

Buffalo Gap Historic Village and Museum, a complex of twenty historic structures from the former frontier settlement, all restored and furnished, centered around the first county courthouse jail. Exhibits include country store, railroad depot, blacksmith and woodworking shop, nineteenth century doctor-dentist office, two-room school, and 1880 bank, buggies and wagons, firearms and Indian artifacts. Open March 15–November 15, Monday–Saturday, 10–6, Sunday 12–6. Winter hours November 16–March 14, Friday, Saturday 10–5. Sunday 12–5. Admission. 915-572-3365.
