Michael has a BA in History & American Studies and an MSc in American History from the University of Edinburgh. He comes from a proud military family and has spent most of his career as an educator in the Middle East and Asia. His passion is travel, and he seizes any opportunity to share his experiences in the most immersive way possible, whether at sea or on the land.

Coat Check Information

A complimentary coat check is available at the Admissions Desk. Coats, sweaters, and jackets must be worn, not carried. Large purses, backpacks, and camera bags are not permitted in the museum.

Accessibility

All museum areas are wheelchair and handicap accessible. Wheelchairs and strollers are available at no charge on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Photography

Photography is allowed in designated areas. (Indicated on Gallery Guide.)

Dining on Persimmon Hill Restaurant

The restaurant serves entrees, soups, sandwiches, desserts, and beverages. Restaurant hours are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Tours

Special admission prices for groups of 10 or more: Tour reservations should be made by e-mail or telephone the Admissions Coordinator two weeks in advance. Tour guides are available by appointment. Please call (405) 478-2250, extension 277.

Special Events

Conventions, evening party tours, and banquets may be held at the museum. To make arrangements call (405) 478-2250, extension 254, or e-mail the Events Coordinator.

Memberships

A membership entitles you to receive the following special benefits:
- Free admission for family; husband, wife, children under age 19 or single person may bring one guest.
- A subscription to Persimmon Hill magazine.
- Museum Store discount.

Donald C. & Elizabeth M. Dickinson Research Center

Open to the public by appointment only. The Research Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (405) 478-2250, extension 273.

Museum Store

The Museum Store offers a great selection of gifts, books, music, jewelry, toys and souvenirs. The Museum Store is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Sunday.
