Points of Interest
Caverns of Sonora contain formations in delicate crystal beauty and amazing profusion on ceilings, walls, and floors. Guided cave tours regularly each half hour covers about 1.5 miles underground. Rest stops are provided, but the tours are strenuous, equivalent to climbing several hundred steps. West of Sonora about eight miles, exit I-10 on Caverns of Sonora Road (FM 1989). Camping area with hookups are available. Admission.

Covered Wagon Outdoor Dinner Theatre, 915-387-2381, performed in a small, natural amphitheater near the Caverns of Sonora. Costumed storytellers recall the early days of the area along with a variety of musical entertainment. Usually mid June through mid August. Call Chamber of Commerce for information. Admission.
